A little bit about Bob

Bob came to Provo in 1978, at 34 years old to run the third Turtle Inn in Turtle Cove. Bob bought a boat to live on and moved to the south side of Providenciales, to dock his boat and purchase his first piece of land in the TCI.

Slowly the South Side Marina was born.

More and more sailors would dock their boats at South Side Marina and Bob would host a pot lock on Wednesday night on the BBQ. And so, Bob’s Bar was born.

The actual bar was built in 2014 as a natural progression to the marina’s expansion.

30 years later, Bob found Tony Arata, owner of Opus, to lease the bar too and this is where our story begins.

“Bob’s Bar defines Provo’s old days.”

Meet Chef Francois

Hailing from just outside of Montreal, Francois moved to the Turks and Caicos in 2006. At just 21 years old, he was offered a position at the highly acclaimed restaurant Coco Bistro, to be Chef de Cuisine. After four years at Coco, he moved on to run Seaside Cafe for five years. It was at Seaside Cafe where he met Tony and Abby, owners of Opus Bar and Grill who gave him the reins with Bob’s Bar.

Fast forward to today, 2019, Francois has modernized Bob’s Bar to offer a dining menu featuring a fresh take on international cuisines, whilst maintaining the neighborhood bar atmosphere.

Bob’s Bar + Eats was born.
